Badlisyah is a pioneer and global standard setter in Islamic banking. He is founder CEO of CIMB Islamic, the global Islamic finance arm of ASEAN's fifth largest universal bank, CIMB Group. Under his helm, CIMB Islamic grew from zero base to become one of the five largest Islamic banks in the world. Badlisyah is also founding member of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad offshore, Malaysia's pioneering Islamic financial group. He was previously Deputy CEO of Lembaga Tabung Haji, which is Malaysia’s national Hajj fund and management board.

Ramlie Kamsari has directly managed billions of dollars in assets in his award-winning career. Ramlie held senior roles in the international investments industry from the early 1990s working with world-leading multinationals. His leadership in global Islamic asset management is punctuated with consistent market share winning record in international markets for over 20 years.

Badlisyah is a multi-award winner for innovative projects, policies, profits, and products for the Islamic community and beyond. Most of the Islamic banking laws in Malaysia and around the world are based on his ground-breaking work. In many instances, he drafted these laws in various jurisdictions in across Asia, Middle East, and Europe. He is also founding President of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF), the standard bearer of professionals in the Islamic finance industry globally.

To date he has raised over $100 billion in funds and continues to grow. He is a Chartered Banker, AICB and a Chartered Islamic Finance Professional from CIIF. He has a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and alumnus of the ICLIF program.

Rob Cayzer

Rob is a leader in economic development, industry development, and impact investments, building a new industry sector and creating 100,000s of high-value jobs in Malaysia. He has over 35 years of experience in economic development, technology, education, and impact investments.

A technology sector veteran operating internationally since 1987, he is founder of the global technology outsourcing sector in Malaysia, subsequently enshrined by the government as a new major national sector. He is founder and founding chairman of “Outsourcing Malaysia”, the nation’s industry association for global business services.

He is advisor to various countries on economic development, through the OECD-DC (Development Centre). The latest project was a multi-year project for Egypt. In Malaysia, he advised and introduced a range of policies, programmes and institutional reform which are widely in force today. This includes setup of economic corridors, state and federal programmes and policy regarding international and domestic trade, labour, taxation, immigration, education, infrastructure, and technology.

Rob is executive council member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council. He is also member of the International Economic Development Council (Washington DC), Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, Australia Computer Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is also a regular sportswriter for Australian online publications. He holds a Degree in Information Technology from University Queensland, Australia.

Ramlie Kamsari

Ramlie Kamsari has directly managed billions of dollars in assets in his award-winning career. Ramlie held senior roles in the international investments industry from the early 1990s working with world-leading multinationals. His leadership in global Islamic asset management is punctuated with consistent market share winning record in international markets for over 20 years.

Ramlie is winner of many industry awards for investments and asset management in Islamic and conventional finance. This includes landmark transactions such as Sime Darby IPO (largest IPO globally at the time of listing), Khazanah USD850m Exchangeable Sukuk, 1st Shariah-compliant ETF, 1st Islamic UCITS platform and Islamic UCITS Equity Funds (domiciled in Dublin, Ireland).

He was Global CEO of Islamic Asset Management business for Nomura Group, operating in over 20 countries. Under his leadership Nomura Islamic achieved record-high profits, assets under management, and client mandates. He joined Nomura from CIMB Group where he held several senior positions as CEO and Executive Director of CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management, CIMB-Howden Insurance Brokers, CIMB Futures. He was also Director & Head, Islamic Equity Markets & Derivatives of CIMB Investment Bank.

Previously based in Singapore with Societe Generale, Daiwa and Barings, Ramlie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Western Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Singapore Institute of Management, and has attended the INSEAD and Wharton leadership programs.
